If We Can’t Find You, We Can’t Help You
By admin Published May 15, 2017
When an emergency strikes, we know time is of the essence. Our team strives to arrive at the location as quickly as possible, assess the situation, and get to work. However, if your home address is not clearly visible to us, we waste valuable seconds trying to locate you. If we can’t find you…we can’t help you. In an emergency situation, every second counts.
The Carbondale Fire District asks for your assistance to ensure your address is clearly visible. By taking action now, this small step will help expedite our response time and could save a life should an emergency occur.
Follow these easy recommendations to help expedite our response time:
- Numbers attached to the house should be a contrasting color in a well-lit area.
- If numbers are located in the front yard, they should be a contrasting color and illuminated with solar lighting or reflective material.
- After calling 911, turn on all outside lights and identify vehicles in driveway to the dispatcher.
- When available, send someone to the curb to flag down the responders.
