Carbondale, Colo. – At 12:47 p.m. on March 6, 2018, Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District was paged to 2340 County Road 100, Carbondale, for a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, the firefighters found smoke and flames coming from one end of a mobile home on the property occupied by Ackerman Log Homes. The structure was 50% involved in flames when crews arrived. Crews were able to confine the fire to the structure of origin.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District, but it appears to be accidental in nature. No loss amount has been determined at this time, but the mobile home was a total loss. There were no occupants living in the residence. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.

Assistant Chief Allan Ingram said, “Carbondale firefighters quickly arrived on the scene. They did a great job attacking the fire in a safe manner. Their fast actions prevented the spread of fire to other areas of the property. I am also grateful for the excellent response from Glenwood Springs and Basalt Fire Departments and the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.”
